[10spot] 174. TEN childhood memories
Mar. 17th, 2009 09:32 am1. My father, angry, taking it out on me. One instance doesn't stand out, necessarily, so much that it's a sort of a blur of the first five years and really all I remember of him from childhood.
2. Being dropped off at school in England by an attaché. I was five. I didn't speak English very well.
3. Teaching myself English.
4. My first Christmas--we didn't celebrate it in Russia, mind you, so. Not that there was much celebrating with me and the teacher who stayed behind to make sure the surly little Russian boy didn't burn the school down while everyone else went home.
5. Learning to swim, and joining the school swim team--spending time at the pool was somewhere nothing else mattered, then.
6. Seeing Irina Derevko for the first time.
7. The Christmas I spent in Galway when I was ten.
8. The first time I fired a gun.
9. The first time I had sex.
10. My first kill before going off to University.
