May. 13th, 2009 08:16 amBeing at sea, on an elaborate cruise, on your honeymoon, is no reason to forget your wife's birthday, and never let it be said that Julian Sark forgets important days like birthdays, especially when they're days that also mark things like important anniversaries of the first significantly long amounts of time they spent with each other. However, being a man of tradition, as with last year, and with Christmas, there is, nestled on the breakfast tray he had delivered to their stateroom that has a plate of waffles (again tradition) on it, two blue boxes like this:

The first contains a necklace in 18k gold with ebony, acacia, pernambuco and amaranth wood by Paloma Picasso. The second, a pair of diamond stud earrings to go with the necklace and bracelet he got her for Christmas.
Along with the box and breakfast is a simple note, simple because, well, he just did a whole wedding with a bunch of sentiment and vow-making, and he can't really top that with words, four days later:
Happy birthday, to my beautiful wife.
Love always,
J
He sort of just wanted to use the word "wife."
